If your pool’s doing something none of these guides matches, you spotted bad math in a dosing formula, or you want a brand or scenario added, please write in.

Helpful to include:

  • Pool volume (gallons or m³) and surface type, vinyl liner, plaster, fiberglass, or painted
  • The actual test results: pH, FC, CC, CYA, TA, calcium hardness, plus what test method or kit you used (FAS-DPD beats strips for anything that matters here)
  • A photo if the water has a color or visible problem (cloudiness, green tint, brown stain)
  • For equipment issues, the make and model of pump, filter, or heater
  • Whether you’re on chlorine, salt-chlorine generation, or one of the alternatives

I follow the TFP method most of the time, chlorine balanced to CYA, no algaecides as a default, but I’m happy to engage with other approaches. I’m not a CPO or a chemist; for commercial pools or anything where someone could get hurt, a licensed pool pro is the right call.
